Swivelpole™ Newcastle Distribution Centre Now Open

  • Newcastle, New South Wales
  • Sinead Williams

Australian eastern states customers can now benefit from local stock, shorter lead times and optional pre-electrical assembly for lighting projects.

Swivelpole™ has opened a new warehouse and distribution centre in Newcastle, NSW, marking the company's first facility on Australia's east coast.

For asset owners, contractors and project teams across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and Tasmania, it means faster access to product, reduced freight costs, and an optional pre-electrical assembly service for lighting applications.

Located close to Australia's largest concentration of mining, industrial and infrastructure projects, the Newcastle facility strengthens Swivelpole's ability to support customers with local stock and faster project delivery.

What is Swivelpole™?

The Swivelpole™ system allows lighting and pole-mounted equipment to be safely lowered to walkway/platform level without ladders, scaffolding or elevated work platforms (EWPs).

Applications include light fixtures, CCTV cameras, wireless antennas, GPS receivers, communications equipment, sirens, IoT sensors, lightning arresters, wind indicators and other equipment mounted at height on a pole. The pole is lowered to the operator, serviced at a safe working height, and then returned to its operating position.

Solutions are available for both Greenfield (new build) projects and Brownfield upgrades by retrofitting existing rigid poles to lowering poles without affecting existing wiring or requiring hot work permits.

Swivelpole™ products are engineered and certified to IEC and NEC standards, carry CE, UKCA and CSA markings, and are backed by a 10-year warranty.

Industries served include mining, oil and gas, power generation, water and wastewater, renewables, infrastructure, defence and commercial. Swivelpole™ systems are installed at sites operated by many of the world's leading mining, energy and industrial companies.

East coast stock, shorter lead times

Until now, all Swivelpole™ products have been dispatched from the company's manufacturing facility in Mandurah, Western Australia. While this has successfully supported customers across Australia, eastern states projects have relied on cross-country freight, increasing delivery times and transport costs.

With standard product now stocked in Newcastle, orders for customers across the eastern states can be picked and dispatched locally. The result is shorter lead times, reduced freight costs and greater flexibility when project schedules change or urgent maintenance requirements arise.

Pre-electrical assembly for lighting applications

For projects involving light fixtures, the Newcastle facility offers a pre-electrical assembly service.

Rather than poles, luminaires, junction boxes and brackets arriving as separate items for your team to configure on site, Swivelpole™ assembles everything at the Newcastle warehouse before dispatch. Each pole leaves with the luminaire and mounting hardware fitted, the junction box and junction box plate installed, and all fastenings torqued to specification.

Every assembled unit is tested and tagged individually. Each receives a Test & Tag certificate, with the tag number, luminaire serial number and junction box batch number recorded in a project-specific register.

On site, the poles arrive ready to install. For projects where on-site electrical work requires certified personnel and scheduled access, the reduction in site labour is significant.

The same product, closer to you

The Newcastle distribution centre operates to the same standards as Swivelpole's Mandurah headquarters, delivering the same product range, the same quality controls and the same 10-year warranty, now supported by local stock on Australia's east coast.

The opening of the Newcastle facility represents another step in Swivelpole's commitment to supporting Australian industry by bringing products, services and technical support closer to customers.
